With all 235 teams now in this seasons game we have ran the numbers to see which players you picked more than anyone else.
Leading the way are Ben Bowns and Gleason Fournier of the Cardiff Devils, who also happen to be the most expensive in the game at 10 and 11 million respectively. Both have been picked in 83 teams which is 35.32%.
The top 10 also contains four Belfast players with Ben Lake being the most popular at 33.19%. The impressive Patryk Wronka, Shane Owen and Kevin Raine round out the rest of the Belfast players.
Jackson Whistle makes the top 10 as well with a lot of managers liking the 5 million price tag. The question is how many games will Whistle play with import goalie Kevin Carr having been brought in.
There are four goalie’s this season who took a large proportion of your picks. Bowns and Whistle have already been mentioned and it’s Belfast’s Shane Owen and Glasgow’s Patrick Killeen who have been picked 61 and 55 times respectively.
Of the top ten goalie’s are surprisingly three back-ups with a lot of managers opting to use the extra money for an upgrade on defence or forward. Therefore Jackson Whistle, Jordan Hedley and Stephen Murphy have been over 100 times between them.
The top defence picks this season are a mix of last year’s top scorers along with some cheaper alternatives. It’s not surprising that Gleason Fournier leads the way alongside other offensively minded players like Ben O’Connor, Calle Ackered and Dallas Ehrhardt.
Kevin Raine, Paul Swindlehurst and Steve Lee also make the top 10 with managers knowing they will be playing every game and hoping for a few points throughout the season. Most surprising pick is Evan Mosey who is likely to be out injured for a number of months
Top forward for this season is Belfast’s Ben Lake with 33.19% of managers being impressed with his Champions Hockey League performances. Teammates Patryk Wronka and Jordan Smotherman also make the top 10. Mathieu Roy’s strong start on the powerplay will also please a lot of managers with him being in 71 teams.
Charles Linglet and Joey Martin of the Cardiff Devils have made the top 10 but 45 managers won’t like the news that Joey Martin is out injured. Coventry pair Evan Bloodoff and Luke Ferrara have proven popular and 39 managers are excited by Marc-Olivier Vallerand’s return to the league.
