In order for FHL UK game to be fair we use the official statistics posted by the Elite League for each game throughout the season. In past seasons after each gameweek finished the statistics were consistently available and unchanged the following day, which allowed us to give updated standings quickly. However, this season the Elite League are using a video review system for all games, which although ensuring more accurate statistics, isn’t confirmed until 4 or 5 days after the gameweek has finished.
Therefore the FHLUK tech department have been working overtime for the last few weeks in order to build out the game so that it is a more immersive experience for everyone playing and you can get point updates as they happen! Overview of the changes are as follows –
LIVE Updates
The “My Team” tab in the portal will now show the latest points for the gameweek. Ensure that you have the most recent gameweek selected in the dropdown and then you will see the points update for your players just minutes after they score. It’s important to note that the Elite League will still change the scoring on some of the games a number of days after they actually finish. These will also be updated automatically so the points updated as the games happen are only provisional.
LIVE Standings
As the points for each particular gameweek are being updated live, this will also now be replicated in the standings and the mini-leagues. So you can see your team move up in the standings whilst watching your captain score the game-winner at the game itself.
LIVE Cup updates
As the cup results are based on each teams score in that individual gameweek, these are now being updated live throughout the week as well. Just click on the “Cup” on the toolbar and select the relevant round to view. It’s important to note that the Elite League will still change the scoring on some of the games a number of days after they actually finish. These will also be updated automatically so the points updated as the games happen are only provisional.
The cup option on the toolbar will be available in the coming days as the current weeks results are being calculated.
Going Forward
Due to the change in timings we will now just release a post on the site and social media once the Elite League confirm the scoring is confirmed. This will lock in the scoring for that gameweek as well as the cup scores. We will still release the relevant team of the week, players of the week and a history of player scores as usual.
There is no change to the current gameweek format, team selection or trades.
