With the Glasgow Clan back in regular league action over the next few weeks, our FHL UK scouting team has an update on who has made a fast start so far.
Lets start with the schedule – as Glasgow are numerous games behind the others in the league in terms of games played, they are going to be catching up for the rest of the season. Now is the time to use some of your remaining trades as you should get plenty of value for money for the players you bring in. For example Glasgow are playing four times in gameweek 11 including three at home.
Our season preview is copied below with the value of all players along with a few key players mentioned. Their current points leaders are based upon a small sample size so far so we still believe that over the course of the season those with the highest value will end up with the best points production.
Topping the points standings through gameweek 9 with 31 is league veteran Mathieu Roy. He has produced in previous seasons with Sheffield and in 2019/20 with Glasgow, so a fast start was expected. At 35 years old though can he keep it going for the rest of the year with a busy schedule.
Close behind Roy is Dyson Stevenson who has 28 fantasy points so far. Having played under coach Malcolm Cameron for a number of years in the WHL it’s no surprise he has started well. Having a coach who knows how to play to his strengths should ensure good point production for just 6.0M.
Defensively it is Medric Mercier who leads the pack although an honourable mention goes to Brock Beukeboom who scored his first goal of the season in gameweek 10. With no high value defenceman there will be some players scoring good points at an affordable value. Can you pick the right one?
