With gameweek 21 now complete it brings an end to the group stages of the FHL UK Shield competition and the start of the knockout stages for the final 64 teams who have made it through. A full list of all the results for the group stage fixtures are below –
With only the winner of each group making it through to the next round it meant we had 17 groups with two or three teams tied at the top. As per the rules at the start competition we therefore took each teams total score across the six weeks of the group stages, with the highest score going through. An overview of all the tiebreakers are as follows –
With the 63 group winners through to the next round there was one place left for the team with the best score who finished second in their group. There were six teams who managed to get 15 points in the group stages who lost their tie-break to be group winner but had a second chance as the best second place team. It was Tom Jeffery with his team NottmPanthers17 who managed to get through by just 15 points.
We therefore have all 64 teams who qualified for the knockout stages of the FHL UK Shield competition. The attached file has the final group standings with a screenshot of the qualifiers also included.
