The FHL UK Shield draw has now been completed in preparation for the start of the competition on gameweek 18 on the 4th January 2023. The full random draw is available on YouTube via the link below –
Format
All 210 teams have been drawn into groups of 7. If you click the “Shield” button in the menu on the portal then you can see who is in your group and their points gained so far. This should automatically populate your group but you can view other groups using the dropdown box.
The fixtures for each group is under the league table. This year the teams in each group will play each other once over gameweeks 18 – 24. As there are seven teams in each group, one of the teams will not have a fixture each week. The team which wins each fixture will get 3 points in the league standings and the team which losers will get nothing. Any fixtures which are tied on gameweek points will be decided by the tiebreaker criteria stated in the rules.
At the end of gameweek 24 the team with the most points from each group will go through to the knockout rounds. The top two second placed teams will also go through to the knockout rounds, to make a total of 32 teams. The second placed teams will be decided on league points and then by total points from gameweeks 18-24.
The knockout fixtures will be from gameweek 25 to gameweek 29, with the winner decided by the points from each gameweek.
