Gameweek 20 is now complete, so unless there are changes to the gamesheets prior to the gameweek change on Tuesday night, our first three rounds of fixtures in the FHL UK Shield competition is now complete. You can check out how your team are doing by clicking the Shield tab in the game portal.

In group 6 Tom Bridges’ “Francesco Storm” will have the chance to literally guarantee their place in the knockout rounds in the coming week. They have already won their first three group fixtures to sit top of the group but now play Kelly Hackman’s “Thunder Force” who are their nearest challengers with six points. A win for “Thunder Force” would make it all to play for in the last few weeks.
In group 14 we had a top of the table clash this week with “Newark Thrashers IHC” managed by Daniel Jackson playing Papa New Guinea with Paul Humphreys at the helm. Both teams had six points each after two wins in the first two weeks. On this occasion it was the “Newark Thrashers” who came out on top by 22 points to take command in the group. They now take on “EIHLCarSalesmenElite” who sit bottom of the group standings.
Group 18 lets set for a final week showdown between two unbeaten teams. “We’ve Got Laporte!” have won all three games so far and “Cardiff Avalanche” have won their first two which was sandwiched around a bye week. As it stands both teams are due to face each other in gameweek 24 which will likely decide the group.
Don’t worry if you have a loss on your record so far in the group stages and there is still time to win your final three or four games and sneak through.
