It’s that time of year when pre-season games have started and fans of each respective team start to predict where they might finish this upcoming season. The FHL UK team are no different so once again we have had a go at predicting the final Elite League standings based upon our player valuing system which predicts a players scoring ability but doesn’t take into account how good they are defensively.
This season though we want to know if you can do better than us and predict all ten teams correctly? If anyone can get all ten teams in the correct order then we will send you a FHL UK branded puck. The overall winner will also win a FHL UK branded puck. If more than one person gets the same number correct then the tiebreaker will be based on who is closer predicting the points score of the league winner.
*** To enter, send your predictions to our email address or via social media (Twitter/Facebook) by midnight on the 21st September. Don’t forget to include how many points you think the league winner will get as well. ***

In terms of our predictions we again have Sheffield claiming the title this year. This is largely because we think Sheffield have a bit more scoring from their defence through the likes of Matt Petgrave and Colton Saucerman. We then see it close for second and third with Cardiff beating the current champions, Belfast. Even with the loss of Scott Conway and David Goodwin we feel Belfast have enough scoring up front but lack a little bit on the blueline. This is in comparison to the Cardiff who have Marcus Crawford and Cody Donaghey.
There is a bit of a gap then to the fourth placed Guildford Flames who are solid in every position. It’s going to be a battle for fifth and sixth with Nottingham edging out Glasgow thanks largely to the scoring of Adam Johnson, who we think will be a contender for the top scorer in the league. Glasgow look much improved from last season though.
Trailing behind Glasgow we have Coventry who look solid but are missing some scoring up front. They do look good defensively which our valuing doesn’t take into account. Manchester Storm claim the last play-off spot just ahead of Dundee with both teams looking level in all areas this season. Rounding out our predictions we have Fife who have changed the majority of their roster and need more offence in order to compete for the playoffs.
