Player Scores
The player scores have now been updated after week 1, unless there are changes to the gamesheets prior to the gameweek change on Tuesday night.
The top scorer last week was Ara Nazarian from the Belfast Giants who had two goals and three assists. There is a good mix of teams in the next few scorers with Zach Vinnell picking up four assists from the blueline for Glasgow to finish just a point behind Nazarian. Nottingham’s Otto Nieminen had three goals in his 45 points and Ian McNulty of Coventry had 44 points. Jake Kielly of Glasgow had the only shutout of the weekend so he tops the goalie scorers with 37.8 points.

League Standings
Congratulations to Tom and his team “Bean Storm” who take up the very early lead in the standings. His team was only one of two who managed to get over 300 points this week. Rounding out the top three are two returning teams with “Cliffy’s Hotshots” and “Hard to Yandle”
Roster Moves
Now that the season has started the majority of teams are going to give their current roster some time to settle in, however Manchester have wasted no time in making an eye-catching move. They have brought in former first round draft pick Joe Morrow who should immediately make Storm more solid in their own end and also help offensively and on the powerplay at the same time. Morrow joins having played at levels rarely seen by new signings in the UK, with 162 games in the NHL and 174 in the AHL. More importantly for GM’s is that his points production while in these leagues is also comparatively good with 0.37 points per game in the AHL. We therefore believe he will be one of the top defenceman in the league straight away and he is added to the game with a 9.0M value.
Upcoming Fixtures
We have a full compliment of fixtures for week 2 with every team playing twice. Belfast though travel over to Scotland for two away games, with Glasgow and Fife being the hosts. Elsewhere Dundee and Manchester have their own home-and-home series over the weekend. Interesting to note for your captain picks is that Guildford are at home twice over the weekend with the Blaze and Panthers visiting.
Don’t forget you can make trades for week 2 up until the trade deadline at midnight on Tuesday night.
