Player Scores
The player scores have now been updated after week 8, unless there are changes to the game sheets prior to the week change on Tuesday night.
A strong week for the Dundee Stars led to their players taking the top two places. Spencer Naas managed to double his total score for the year so far with his 60 points this week. His four goals in the week included two on the powerplay along with one being a game winner as well. He narrowly beats out team-mate Drydn Dow who scored 57 points from the blueline. His two goals and two assists also included two points on the powerplay. If the Dundee powerplay stays hot then expect both players to be towards the top again next week. Elsewhere a return to goal-scoring form for Cole Sanford saw him pick up four goals. In goal both Kevin Carr and Eamon McAdam won both games over the weekend to score 25.4 and 24.3 points respectively.
Drydn Dow’s excellent week sees him move to the top of the scorer standings with 180 points overall. He is averaging 41.7 points over the last three weeks. He is 10 points clear of Marc-Olivier Vallerand in second while Kobe Roth and Mark Cooper are tied in third.

League Standings
“Tedesco Express” managed by John is this week’s top scoring team and the only one to score over 300 points. Their 307.3 points sees them move up to 124th in the league. A return to goal scoring form by captain Cole Sanford brought in 96 points and player of the week Drydn Dow’s 57 points was backed up by Marcus Crawford, who scored 23 points. They also had good weeks from Kyle Osterberg (27 points), Eamon McAdam (24.3 points) and Robert Lachowicz (27 points).
Andrew Millan’s “Blocked Capitals” is still clinging on to first overall but the gap is down to just three points to Ben Millard’s “Brexit Hockey” who scored 263.7 points in the week. Last week’s second place team “Bean Storm” drop down to 17th after a poor week, but this shows how close it is still at the top. Our two time reigning champion Jon Newbould is still moving towards the top and has made it as far as 6th, just 26 points behind.
Roster Moves
We had two new signings during the last week with Coventry shaking things up by bringing in Aidan Spellacy to replace Cole Donhauser. Spellacy has only played 6 professional games in his career so far so may take some time to settle in. We’ve therefore given him a 5.0 value for the season. Donhauser has just two assists so far this season and 14 GM’s will need to bring in a replacement for him in their teams.
Fife have also made a change defensively with Sean Giles replacing Adam Holwell. Giles joins after a good year in Slovakia where he had 26 points in 50 games, and he has already made a good impression for his new team having scored the game tying goal in the final seconds of the game against Glasgow. He is added at a potential bargain 5.5M.
In terms of team selections there was a rush to bring in Kobe Roth last week after his rise to third in the scoring charts. 11 new GM’s have traded for him to take his overall selections up to 40 overall. We mentioned Cardiff duo Tyler Busch and Brandon Alderson last week after their strong form and they have been brought in by an extra 7 and 6 teams respectively.
Upcoming Fixtures
We have a schedule of league fixtures this week with Glasgow hosting Guildford on Friday night to get things going. The in-form Flames also play twice over the weekend as well so it could be a good time to load up on their players if you have enough trades left. They have a home-and-home series against the Dundee Stars to complete their busy week. Sheffield have a pair of home games as well in what could be a strong week for them. They host Belfast on Saturday and Glasgow on Sunday.
Coventry and Fife also have a home-and-home series over the weekend whilst the Storm host Belfast in their only game of the week. Cardiff are away playing in the Continental Cup so don’t have any fixtures.
Don’t forget you can make trades for week 9 up until the trade deadline at midnight on Tuesday night.
