The final competition of the FHL UK Season is going to start soon. The FHL UK Shield will have a similar format to previous years with all teams being drawn into groups where they will play weekly fixtures against other teams in that group. If you win your weekly fixture you get 3 points and if you lose you get nothing. The highest scoring teams then go through to the knockout stages where it is straight knockout ties until we have a winner.
This season we have 368 teams who have valid teams in game week 15 which finishes on the 2nd Jan 2024. All these teams are included in the group stage draw. The draw will take place prior to week 17 when the first fixtures will take place.
The teams will be split into 92 groups of 4 teams. You’ll then play each team in your group once from week 17 to week 19. Each team is guaranteed to have three fixtures whereas you could be knockout out after one round in the FHL UK Cup.
Every group winner and the 36 best group runners-up (to be determined by group points and if there is a tie by accumulated points over the 5 weeks) will then go through to the knockout rounds from week 20. The tiebreaker rules are in the rules section on the website.
