Player Scores
The player scores have now been updated after week 19, unless there are changes to the game sheets prior to the week change on Tuesday night.
For the first time in the history of FHL UK we have three goalies as our top three scorers for the week. Matt Greenfield is the top scorer after his three wins including a shutout of the Coventry Blaze in the cup semi-final on Wednesday. He benefits from playing three times this week over his two counterparts who played just twice. The other two goalies are Manchester’s Evan Weninger (51.3 points) and Cardiff’s Ben Bowns (51.1 points) who won both their games and also had a shutout.
In the overall scoring Marcus Crawford had a relatively quiet week with just one assist. Therefore our leading scorer for the week Matt Greenfield has pulled back a huge number of points to now only be trailing by 23. His teammate Patrick Watling has a nice gap in third after another solid week and he is now averaging close to 30 points a week over the last 9 weeks.

League Standings
Our top scorer this week was Chris King’s “Subbuteo Kings” who scored 428.2 points. He was clear of the only other two teams to top 400 points this week, “Casha’s Chaos” and “All Hate The Steelers Clap Your Hands” who scored 404.3 and 402.4 points respectively. “Subbuteo Kings” did it by captaining our top scorer for the week “Matt Greenfield”, who then amassed 126.2 points on his own. In defence they also had Cody Donaghey who returned to form with 48 points, Dominic Cormier with 30 points, and the Jeff Baum/Drydn Dow duo who both scored 25 points. Up front there were no really high scores but solid weeks from Josh Waller (32 points), Kobe Roth (30 points), Kyle Osterberg (28 points) and Patrick Watling (25 points) all contributed towards the huge score. They now move up to 27th in the league standings.
There was very little movement at the top of the league standings as our top three all scored within 1.1 points of each other.
Roster Moves
We have had a couple of roster moves this week which both involve the Nottingham Panthers. First we had news that Austin Farley left the Panthers having just played 11 games since moving over mid-season, and he has moved to the Manchester Storm where he has a goal and an assist in his first two games. The change of scenery could be a boost for Austin as well as the Storm. He is still available at 7.5M.
To fill the gap by the departing Farley, the Panthers signed Anthony Luciani who is a veteran of the European style of play having spent the last six seasons playing across the different leagues. Last season in Austria was an example of his offensive talents when he scored 41 points in just 39 games, with 22 of those being goals. However a slower start to this year, 13 points in 25 games, has led to him being available. The question is has this just been a blip this season and will a move to Nottingham bring back the level of points production from previous seasons? At 8.0M it must be worth a chance.
Matt Greenfield continues to have the most selections in the league with 143 and no other player is above 100. The in-form Brady Norrish is second after increasing his ownership to 96 teams this week, with Marcus Crawford in third with 82 selections. Alessio Luciani has seen the biggest ownership increase over the last week with an increase of 7 to a total of 56. Having just missed the price increases last week, Luciani is still available at just 5.0M for a top 6 forward.
The Brett Neumann injury news has filtered down to our GM’s as he has been traded out of 9 teams in the last week.
Upcoming Fixtures
This week we have Sheffield and Coventry kicking off the fixtures on Wednesday in their second leg of the cup semi-final, which is pretty much over after the Steelers 6-0 win away in Coventry. With this extra fixture both teams will play three times this week with Sheffield having a home-and-home against the Clan starting in Glasgow on Friday. Coventry also have a home-and-home against the Panthers which starts on Saturday in Nottingham.
The Dundee and Guildford players will be having a rest this week with just one game when they face each other in Dundee on Saturday. Continuing our home-and-home week we have Manchester and Fife starting the weekend in Manchester before travelling up to Fife on Sunday. Cardiff then travel over to Belfast to play twice over the weekend to round out our fixtures.
Don’t forget you can make trades for week 20 up until the trade deadline at midnight on Tuesday night.
