Player Scores
The player scores have now been updated after week 28, unless there are changes to the game sheets prior to the week change on Tuesday night.
Top scorer this week was Belfast’s Josh Roach who picked up a goal and four assists in the week for a total of 55 points overall. Behind him we have a trio of goalies who all had two wins and a shutout on the week. Rok Stojanovic (54.6 points), Jackson Whistle (54.1 points) and Anthony Morrone (50.5 points) all scored over 50 points. Top scoring forward on the week was Spencer Naas who scored 41 points thanks to two goals and two assists.
In the overall scoring a week off for Matt Greenfield left the door open for Mitchell Balmas and Marcus Crawford to close the gap before the final week, but they failed to take advantage after scoring 7 and 25 points respectively. It is still close though with 23 points separating all three players.

League Standings
Our top scorer this week is Kirsty Johnston’s “Blazing or Bust!” who dominated every other team this week with 418.9 points and moved up to 63rd place overall. They were a clear 59.6 points ahead of anyone else and over 100 points ahead of everyone except six other teams. With such a large margin at the top you can probably guess that the captains pick was one of our top scorers, and it was Rok Stojanovic who scored 109.2 points in the week. In defence there was also high scores for Ben O’Connor (35 points), Dominic Cormier (36 points) and Drydn Dow (29 points). Up front Spencer Naas, Daniel Tedesco, Patrick Watling and Johnny Corneil all scored at least 26 points.
Week 28 was a big week in the overall standings as our top two tried to position themselves with the best chance of winning the coveted FHL UK League Title. It is now advantage to “Brexit Hockey” after they extended their lead at the top of the standings to 100.7 points with the one week to go.
GM Karl Seed of “Ulett The Dogs Out” has been quoted in his press conference this week saying that he is “playing it safe to try and consolidate 2nd after a dreadful two weeks”. Is he throwing the towel in already or is he getting in the head of the “Brexit Hockey” players hoping they think the job is done and lower their standards? We’ll find out by the end of the week.
Roster Moves
Matt Greenfield had reached 150 selections last week but has dropped back to 149 in week 28. I wonder if the one person who dropped him is called Aaron Fox, as he knew that Anthony Morrone would be starting both games this week. It was good news for the 15 GM’s who do have Morrone in their starting line-up. With just one week to go until the end of the season it is Otto Nieminen who is the form player and he was traded for by another six teams for the week. Troy Lajeunesse is also hitting form at the right time and he is now owned by 52 teams, which is up three on the week.
Upcoming Fixtures
The final week of the regular season is upon us so we have a number of teams with three games. Fife and Sheffield meet up in Scotland on Wednesday as they start their busy week. From there Sheffield travel to Belfast for a double header on Friday and Saturday, while Fife have a home-and-home against Dundee over the weekend. The Stars also have three games this week with their extra game being against Cardiff on Wednesday. The Devils are at home again on Saturday against Coventry before finishing out the regular season in Glasgow. Coventry and Manchester are the final two teams who play three times after they play on Wednesday. The Storm have a home-and-home with Nottingham on the weekend while Coventry host Guildford for the final game of the Elite League regular season. The only game we haven’t mentioned is Glasgow travelling down to Guildford on Saturday.
Don’t forget you can make trades for week 29 up until the trade deadline at midnight on Tuesday night.
