This season our scouting department will be giving an update prior to the start of each game week to give you all the information you need to get your team top of the standings.
Roster Moves
While this is our first update of the season lets have a look at the player selections as of week 4. Despite not playing for the first two game weeks Matt Greenfield once again has the most selections at the moment with 127 overall. He is a huge 42 selections ahead of Belfast’s Scott Conway in second with Manchester goalie Evan Weninger in third with 79 selections.
In terms of forwards the rest of the top five after Scott Conway are Sam Herr (72 selections), JJ Piccinich (69 selections), Daniel Tedesco (62 selections) and Lucas Chiodo who has risen from 25 selections in week 1 to 55 selections in week 4.
Our top defenceman is Sheffield’s Colton Saucerman but he is just one selection ahead of Storm’s Joe Morrow with 75 selections to 74. Evan Mosey (69 selections), Kevin Tansey (66 selections) and Ben O’Connor (61 selections) round out the top 5.
Who’s Hot?
Going forward we will highlight those players who have hit form over the last few weeks but for now we can just look at who has scored the most points overall so far. Cardiff duo Josh MacDonald and Zach O’Brien currently lead the way although we have yet to break the 100 point barrier so far. Former league leading scorers Scott Conway and Sam Herr have also have strong starts with 80 and 77 points respectively.
Who’s Not?
In this section we will look at those players performing below their projections based on value and whose form has dropped off. This time we have some injury news out of Cardiff with Hunter Shinkaruk and Mac Carruth both not able to play so far. Shinkaruk was actually the second most selected player in week 1 with 84 selections but has quickly been traded out by many GM’s, and is now down to 47 selections.
Upcoming Schedule
We have an early start for week 5 with Glasgow welcoming Nottingham for a Wednesday night game. Glasgow are then at home again on Saturday with Dundee the visitors this time, so it might be a good week to look at a Clan player for your captain pick. However the Panthers have three games in total with a visit to Sheffield followed by a home game against Fife over the weekend. So if you are looking for a player with the most ice time to gather points then a Panthers player might be worth looking at.
Belfast are the only team to have just one game this week and it is a tough one as they host the Devils on Saturday night. Cardiff then travel to Guildford on Sunday to complete their pair of away games over the weekend. The only game on Friday is in Manchester as they host Coventry, before then travelling to Fife on Saturday. Coventry will then travel home to await Guildford on Saturday.
