This season our scouting department will be giving an update prior to the start of each game week to give you all the information you need to get your team top of the standings.
Roster Moves
We have three new players added into the game ready for the start of week 6. The first is a new member of the Nottingham blueline, Zsombor Garát, who ventured out of his native Hungary for his first pro season last year. A solid season in Worcester in the ECHL caught the attention of head coach Danny Stewart who has added some depth to his team. Zsombor doesnt put up huge points but has some offensive upside and is added in to the game at 5.5M.
The other two signings are both in the Fife goal. First, Brython Preece has left as the back-up so there are 12 GM’s who will need to trade him out of their team. To replace him Cameron Kenny has been signed to serve as the British back-up but the more interesting signing is Janis Voris who joins as another import goalie and to give Shane Owen a bit of competition. Janis has played across Europe but was in Hungary over the last two years and put up some really good numbers. It is hard to imagine he will take much playing time from Owen though, so is added into the game at 6.0M.
In terms of selections the most traded player this week was Ryan Tait who was signed by six new teams to take his overall ownership up to 45 overall, although he rewarded his new owners with a blank game week. Joe Morrow was next highest with an additional five selections to take him to 79 overall now, which an increase of 30 since the start of the season. Easy to see why when he is currently the top scoring player in the league.
Who’s Hot?
Going forward we will highlight those players who have hit form over the last few weeks but as it is still early in the season lets have a look at the top scorers over the last three weeks. At the top we have three defencemen with Manchester’s Joe Morrow and Sheffield’s Kevin Tansey both scoring 88 points to lead the way. Following close behind is Steven Seigo from the Glasgow Clan with his 85 points. All three can be brought in for just 7.5M.
Following our three defenceman we have three forwards, lead by Cardiff line mates Zach O’Brien and Cole Sanford who have scored 83 and 82 points respectively. Manchester’s Alexis D’Aoust has settled quickly to put up 82 points as well. If you are looking for a goalie then there’s no surprise that Matt Greenfield is continuing to score his usual 20-25 points per week.

Who’s Not?
In this section we will look at those players performing below their projections based on value and whose form has dropped off. Looks like there is more injury news out of Cardiff based on the game sheet from Sunday’s game. Missing on defence was Cody Donaghey, Andrew MacWilliam and Evan Mosey. Up front Riley Brandt, Kohen Olischefski and Hunter Shinkaruk were also missing, so GM’s with any of these players will need to think if a trade is required. Also missing in their last game were Manchester’s Cam Critchlow, Chase Harrison, Stephen Johnson and Dallas Ehrhardt.
Elsewhere we have also seen some slow starts from our higher valued players in the last three weeks like Michael Pelech (7 points), Gabe Bast (13 points) and Ben O’Connor (0 points).
Upcoming Schedule
We start the action this week on Wednesday with Belfast visiting Fife in what is a busy week for the Giants. They also have a home and home with the Clan over the weekend so must have some good options for your captain picks this week. The Flyers only other game of the week is on Friday night in Cardiff before they have the weekend off.
The Devils also have three games this week with a trip to Nottingham on Saturday followed by a visit of the Dundee Stars on Sunday. The Stars only other game of the week is in Guildford the day before, who just have the one game this week. Another team with just one game is the Coventry Blaze and they entertain the red hot Steelers who are venturing back in to CHL action during the week, before the away games in Coventry and then Manchester. That game on Sunday in Manchester is the Storm’s only game of the week as well.
Overall we have some big swings possible this week with some teams playing three times and some only playing once. If your team is full of players with one game, then it could be time to use up some of your trades.
