This season our scouting department will be giving an update prior to the start of each game week to give you all the information you need to get your team top of the standings.
Roster Moves
Quite a bit to catch up on this week, and we start with the departure of Rok Stojanovic who leaves Nottingham after his short term deal ended. There’s only one GM though who will need to trade him away this week though. Also leaving Nottingham is forward Adam Berg who has only got the one point so far this season and had seen his ownership drop from 24 teams in week 1 to 14 teams in week 10.
Elsewhere, we have one player departing and one arriving from both Fife and Sheffield. Leaving Fife is Martin Latal who has struggled early in the season and he has been replaced by Massimo Carozza. The former Panther has joined after spending last season in Cortina. He did score 24 points in 26 games when last in the league so is added with a 6.5M value. In Sheffield Angelo Miceli has left after being on the edge of the team for the majority of the season. In his place is defencemen Veeti Vainio, who joins to add an extra body with the injury to Colton Saucerman. Veeti, who already scored in his first game, is added to the game at 7.0M.
In terms of selections, Charlie Dodero’s impressive form led to him being traded in by 6 GM’s this week, however all 41 of his owners will be disappointed by his blank scoring week. Coventry’s Mat Robson is now up to 30 selections as well after his increase of five from last week.
Daniel Tedesco was the most traded out player as he drops another five selection over the last week. He did pick up an assist this week but hasn’t got into double figures since week 4. Patrick Watling had dropped by 4 selections over the week but did return from injury for the weekend, so we can expect his selections to increase for the coming week.
Who’s Hot?
Over the next few weeks we’ll have a look at the top scoring players from each position. This week lets have a look at some of the bargain players who are 6.0M or less. Even though we increased the budget for this season, you still need to have a couple of players who are low in value but can add some scoring to your lineup.
Jake Durflinger | F | Manchester Storm | 5.5M | 175 points |
Nick Seitz | F | Coventry Blaze | 5.5M | 150 points |
Michael Regush | F | Coventry Blaze | 6.0M | 143 points |
Joshua Waller | F | Guildford Flames | 5.5M | 121 points |
Ethan Strang | F | Guildford Flames | 5.5M | 117 points |
Loren Ulett | F | Manchester Storm | 5.0M | 111 points |
Daniel Krenzelok | D | Fife Flyers | 6.0M | 98 points |
Brandon Whistle | F | Sheffield Steelers | 4.5M | 98 points |
Jonathan McBean | F | Dundee Stars | 4.0M | 90 points |
Tyler Heidt | D | Fife Flyers | 6.0M | 81 points |
Who’s Not?
In this section we will look at those players performing below their projections based on value and whose form has dropped off. As we mentioned earlier in the post, we have had a number of players move on from teams over the last week, so if you have any of these in your team then it is time to trade them out.
If we also look at scoring over the last three weeks lets see who is playing regularly but isn’t putting up the points to go with their value. Joel Janatuinen is playing for Sheffield, albeit not with a lot of ice time, but hasn’t scored a point for the last five weeks. Dallas Ehrhardt, who was once one of the top scoring defenceman in this game, continues to drop in value over the last few seasons. He has had a few injury problems this year but has played the last few weeks without scoring a point. If we move to the Glasgow Clan, Keaton Jameson has also struggled. He played just over 11 minutes in Fife on Saturday but wasn’t featured in the scoring and hasn’t scored in five weeks. Same for Michael Pelech for the Clan, one of the top scorers for the Clan last season has struggled this year. He only had 8 minutes of ice time in the Fife game and hasn’t scored in 4 weeks. His ownership has dropped to just 6 teams now. Finally Darien Kielb is priced at 8.0M for his offensive upside but he isn’t managing to come up with the points at the moment in his 17 minutes of ice time per game.
Upcoming Schedule
We have some decisions to be made this week for our GM’s with Cardiff playing in the Continental Cup and not having any fixtures. Do you use some valuable trades to bring in some players short term or stick with your Cardiff players for a week knowing they won’t score? If you are still in the cup then this could be the difference between a win and a loss.
Elsewhere, we start on Wednesday with Belfast travelling over to Glasgow for a cup game, Belfast then have two home games over the weekend when they play Fife on Saturday and then Glasgow on Sunday. Manchester, Dundee and Guildford have their own mini league over the weekend with Dundee travelling to Manchester on Friday and then Guildford travelling to Dundee on Saturday. They finish it off with Manchester going to Guildford on Sunday.
The Clan also have three games this week with a home game on Saturday against Nottingham in the middle of their two games against Belfast. The Panthers have two away games over the weekend with a visit to Coventry on Sunday. Finally, Sheffield are at home on Saturday against Coventry before travelling to Fife on Sunday.
