It’s time to hang up those skates for another fantasy hockey year and look forward to the Elite League playoffs (for some). Before we do that let’s have a look at how the last week decided the league and shield competitions.
FHL UK League
Last week we looked at how it was likely a two horse race going into the final weekend of games. Tom Coleman’s “Maple Flames” had a 36.8 point lead over Chris King’s “Subbuteo Kings”. In the end both teams had good weeks and finished 12th and 13th in the weekly standings. Unfortunately got the “Subbuteo Kings” it wasn’t their year and despite a valiant effort they finish this years runner up. That means this years winning GM and team are…
Tom Coleman – Maple Flames
Congratulations to Tom and his team whose name is added into the FHL UK Hall of Fame.
FHL UK Cup
The FHL UK Cup was over in the middle of the season with Mark Taylor’s “Haden Heard Bow” beating Andy Dean’s “A Team Has No Name”.
FHL UK Shield
In the final of the FHL UK Shield competition we had Kelly Morgan’s “Pucking Legends” against Raymond Fryer’s “The Flying Puckhits”. In a similar result to the finale of the league, both teams had good weeks and finished close together in the weekly standings. Pucking Legends had good scores from their goalie duo of Matt Greenfield and Mat Robson but their defenceman had great weeks with Drydn Dow (39 points), Simon Despres (23 points), Cody Donaghey (23 points) and Cooper Zech (15 points) all contributing to the overall score. For “The Flying Puckhits” it was their forward group that did most of the scoring with Nick Seitz (39 points), Alexis D’Aoust (34 points as captain) and Chase Gresock (24 points) all having good weeks. In defence Drydn Dow (39 points) and Joe Morrow (34 points) had great weeks but the other defencemen all had blank weeks.
Overall there was less than 10 points between the teams but our FHL UK Shield winner is…
