Week 26 brings us to the final of the FHL UK Shield competition where after three weeks of group games and six knockout rounds we are left with two teams to fight it out for the trophy.
Let’s have a look at the two teams prior to any trades made before the final. Our first finalist is “Get Pucked” and they have Matt Greenfield and Evan Weninger in goal. Their opponents “Bean Storm” have Greenfield and Ben Bowns so you would have to give the advantage to them with Cardiff having two home games, providing Bowns plays both games.
In defence we only have Blake Thompson who is in both teams so there is scope for a big difference in scores here. “Get Pucked” have Cardiff duo Josh Batch and Evan Mosey along with Brady Norrish, Will Cullen and Kevin Tansey. “Bean Storm” counter with Cody Donaghey, Colton Saucerman, Jacob Friend, Myles McGurty and Bryce Reddick. It looks pretty level across both teams with a mix of players in form.
Up front it is also two different rosters who are up against each other with “Get Pucked” having gone all in with three Fife forwards (Lajeunesse, Osterberg and Eriksson) but they only have the one game this week. The same applies to Spencer Naas who just has the one game for Dundee. However they do have Lewis Hook, Peter Crinella and Mitchell Balmas who play three times as they are all in the cup final. Rounding out their forward lines they have Gary Haden and Cam Critchlow.
For “Bean Storm” the majority of their forwards have the standard two games with Cole Sanford, Daniel Tedesco and Ben Lake all having two home games. Turner Ripplinger and Jonathan McBean are the exceptions with three games for Ripplinger, however he has had just one scoring week in the last ten, and one game for McBean. Rounding out the forward lines are Ian McNulty, Hugo Roy, Philippe Sanche and Dyson Stevenson.
We so many different players we could have a one sided cup final this year and a lot will depend on “Get Pucked’s” forward group with some players playing once and some playing three times. Good luck to both teams!
