This season our scouting department will be giving an update prior to the start of each game week to give you all the information you need to get your team top of the standings.
Roster Moves
We have just had the one roster move over the last few weeks with the short benched Fife Flyers bringing in Charles-Antoine Paiement. He spent the second half of last season at Trois-Rivières Lions in the ECHL, which was his first games as a professional. He stayed there for the first half of this season before making the move to Fife. With only four assists this season he isn’t likely to be putting up many points, but he already has his first goal for Fife so maybe an increase in ice-time will increase his production. He is added at 5.0M so could be great value if Fife turn around their form.
In terms of selections Joe Morrow remains at the top with 105 selections, with Matt Greenfield (101 selections) and Scott Conway (90 selections) in second and third. Josh MacDonald has the most selections this week though with an additional 9, and he is up to 74 overall now. Coventry pair Chase Gresock and Michael Regush are next with another five and four selections respectively. Interestingly though Nick Seitz, who has as many points as his team mates, only has one additional selection in the week and only 32 overall.
Who’s Hot?
The top overall scorers are on our site (link below), but with plenty of games over the holiday period lets have a look at who has been hot over the last three weeks. There are plenty of unfamiliar names so as well as their scores we have added how many selections they currently have in the game. Picking up a player everyone else has doesn’t always give you that advantage, but if you can find someone who is in form that nobody else has then you can move up the league quickly.
Brendan Harms (6.5M) – Dundee Stars – 127 points – 22 selections
Zsombor Garát (5.5M) – Nottingham Panthers – 115 points – 1 selection
Alexis D’Aoust (7.5M) – Manchester Storm – 111 points – 18 selections
Joey Martin (9.0M) – Cardiff Devils – 104 points – 30 selections
Mike Lee (9.0M) – Belfast Giants – 103 points – 9 selections
Rylan Schwartz (8.0M) – Glasgow Clan – 101 points – 5 selections
Josh MacDonald (8.0M) – Cardiff Devils – 100 points – 74 selections
Jake Elmer (6.5M) – Dundee Stars – 96 points – 40 selections
Maxim Golod (8.5M) – Sheffield Steelers – 96 points – 6 selections
Charlie Curti (6.0M) – Guildford Flames – 93 points – 12 selections
Our last tip to stick with Nottingham’s top line would have worked out for any GM’s taking that advise as they are all between 12th and 17th in the list above. This week we can see Sheffield are starting to play better after two wins over the weekend, and they have two home games this week, including one against Fife. Therefore our tip is to go for their hottest forward in Maxim Golod, who scored 69 points last week.
Upcoming Schedule
We are back to a normal schedule this week although there are some teams to target for your trade activity and captain picks. The first team is the only one playing three times, the Nottingham Panthers, however all their games are away from home and on consecutive days. They travel for two games in Belfast on Friday and Saturday before then playing in Dundee on Sunday. This also means Belfast have two home games and they are joined by two other teams. Glasgow are at home to Cardiff and Guildford on Friday and Saturday, while Sheffield play at home to Coventry and Fife over the weekend. Guildford are the only team to play once this week.
Elsewhere Manchester host Cardiff on Saturday before travelling to Coventry on Sunday, while Dundee travel to Fife on Saturday.
