This season our scouting department will be giving an update prior to the start of each game week to give you all the information you need to get your team top of the standings.
Roster Moves
We have a transfer deadline special this week with a plethora of new signings to look at. Teams have to confirm any signings by the end of Monday 17th February, but can release the news after the deadline, so may well miss the start of the next game week. First up is Sam Tremblay who moves up from Sheffield Steeldogs to the Steelers for the rest of the season. He has played at the Elite League level before with a small number of games for Sheffield earlier in the season and also 25 points for Manchester last season. He’ll likely slot in on the 4th line for Sheffield so is added at 5.5M. Former Fife captain Jonas Emmerdahl has returned for the rest of the season after Noah Delmas needed to be placed on inured reserve. Jonas is added with the same value he has had in his previous seasons with Fife, 5.0M.
There’s plenty of familiar faces returning to or moving within the league and we’ll continue that with Cade Neilson who has re-joined the Clan after an earlier spell at the start of the season. During his time in Utah he put up 14 points in 43 games, which is really solid considering he is just 23. He is already in the game at 6.5M but is now worth considering trading for again. Brady Pouteau is back in the Elite League in Coventry this time after spending last season in Fife. He started this season playing for the Rapid City Rush in the ECHL where he has scored 15 points so far, so can contribute offensively. He is added in to the game at 5.5M.
Next are two players who have moved within the Elite League. First is Jere Huhtamaa who was released by the Steelers and then picked up by Nottingham after news that there was no immediate return of Ryan Bednard. He remains at 8.5M. Reece Kelly has also moved from Glasgow to Sheffield and will remain at 4.0M. If you already own those players then you will no longer score points for them unless you trade for them in their new club.
We finish with two new players to the league, Harrison Caines joins Manchester for his first taste of professional hockey after completing his time at University in Canada. He has been added at 5.5M. Finally Ben Almquist has joined Cardiff after spending the first part of the season at Lillehammer in Norway where he scored 35 points in 39 games. He is added in at 7.5M.
Who’s Hot?
Our pick last week was Cole Sanford and although he scored two goals for 20 points in the week, it was only good enough for the 43rd highest score in the week. For week 25 we will stick with a one of the teams with two home games and three overall in the week. Glasgow seem to have the easiest schedule with home games against Manchester and Coventry along with a trip to Fife. Lets go with their captain Deven Sideroff.
